Base ClearCase has no policy enforcement assiociated with any of it's configuration managagement functions. ClearCase UCM provides a basic "best practices" process and generic policy enforcement. Both ClearCase and ClearCase UCM can be tailored to better support your software development process ... making the tool a more seamless part of your environment.
Maintain control of your development environment and ensure consistency in your policies and processes. Validate that any conditions specified by your organization are met prior to VOB database updates. Provide point-and-click interfaces for all policy enforcement and process automation. Validate that client machines are properly configured before allowing access to your VOB.
